Griffith Statement on Speaker of the 114th Congress (VA-9 Bought and Paid For by Boehner)
Office of Congressman Morgan Griffith ^ | January 5, 2014 | Congressman Morgan Griffith

Posted on 01/05/2015 5:14:13 PM PST by Timber Rattler

Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) today issued the following statement on the Speaker of the House for the 114th Congress:

“I strongly believe that Congress ought to be more aggressive in opposing President Obama’s policies than in the past. Time will tell if the new Congress will bring a more aggressive approach in fighting President Obama’s failed policies.”

“That being said, no candidate other than John Boehner stepped forward for the nomination at the Republican Conference meeting of November 13, 2014. Had a viable candidate sought the nomination at that meeting, I would have given serious consideration to supporting them due to my frustrations with the leadership style of John Boehner.”

Congressman Morgan Griffith of Virginia's 9th District (Southwest Virginia) talking out of both sides of his mouth. He was the guy who rode the TEA Party wave of 2010 and defeated Rick Boucher. Now, word on the SWVA street is that he wants a plum committee chairmanship and to go "career" in Congress.

Power certainly corrupts, and its looks like Griffith has been bought off by Boehner and the GOP-E.

I warned him supporting Boehner would hurt the district and cost him his job.
Now I’ll have to, and will, support any opponent.

I’ve seen two different ratings of congressional votes that put him to the left of the average Republican.

What a disappointment.

In other news today, Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) dismissed Ronald Reagan dor the speakership after Jesus Christ appeared on the house floor with the spirit of the former President.

Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) said that had Reagan appeared in Armini, he would have given serious consideration.

We have at least two great men running now Trey Gowdy
and Louis Gohmert. So Congressman Morgan Griffith what will be your excuse this time?

For my money you are still talking out of both sides of your mouth because you have been bought off by Boehner and the GOP-E.

What has happened since November? CRomnibus. Does that "oppose Obama's policies", Griffith?

So, are you a liar or a moron?

Congressman Griffith says...“That being said, no candidate other than John Boehner stepped forward for the nomination at the Republican Conference meeting of November 13, 2014. Had a viable candidate sought the nomination at that meeting, I would have given serious consideration to supporting them due to my frustrations with the leadership style of John Boehner.”

Well, congressman, you now have a chance to support someone other than Boehner. And, yet, you choose not to do so. That speaks volumes, sir. Volumes.

“I hope that Speaker Boehner does not disappoint me and the American people.”

As you are disappointing many of your constituents and the American people.

60% of his district(or more) is probably on .gov handouts in one form or another.

His key to victory is to play pro-gun, social conservative hero, standing against the EPA for what’s left of the Coal and other industries that remain here, while voting for FSA handouts while no one is looking. Fiscal conservatism doesn’t really matter much to him, because the vast majority of the people in his district likely don’t pay taxes in the first place.

He’s basically a Republican version of Rick Boucher, but more conservative when it comes to social issues. Most of the people here are stupid enough to eat it up every two years, so he’ll be there for awhile. The only thing that brought Boucher down was him being 0bama’s lapdog from day one. Boucher won election in my county by over 20+ points, while Bush carried it by around the same amounts during 2000/2004, just to give you an idea how stupid the electorate in this district usually is.

Oh, and that vote in the conference was just a voice vote- with several “no” shouts.

Pathetic, glad to see him getting flayed in the comments.
Man, and I was so happy when Boucher lost.

75% of his district probably doesn’t know or care who Boehner is. lol

He would be stupid to throw away his ‘career’ in DC for a cause no one in his district knows or gives a damn about. I called and emailed his office, though I sadly knew it was a waste of time.

I’m in the poorest part of his district. I have a lot of sympathy for him having to go along with Leadership because we are so needy.

But the answer to that is to vote for Leadership that won’t require him to cast the votes that Boehner makes him cast. This is like cutting his own throat.

Heck, that ‘cromnibus’ let the EPA continue it’s war on coal hurting our few jobs and raising our electric bills!
What a fool to vote for a Speaker who is doing that to his constituents!
