An American health worker exposed to the Ebola virus while working in Sierra Leone arrived in Omaha Sunday afternoon and is now being monitored at Nebraska Medicine.
Paramedics wearing full-body protective gear took the patient, who has not been identified, by ambulance from a plane that arrived at Eppley Airfield around 1:45 p.m. to the hospital, which has a specialized biocontainment unit.
"I can't comment on if the patient does or doesn't have any kind of symptoms at this point, but I can say the crew inside the biocontainment unit, the crew that received the patient at the airport, is treating this patient as if he or she does have the virus, just out of an abundance of caution," said Nebraska Medicine spokesman Taylor Wilson.
This patient has been exposed to the virus, but is not ill and is not contagious, said Dr. Phil Smith...

I thought I’d died and gone to Hell, but I was only in Omaha.
Little Bill
The Ebola Hysteria continues into 2015.
Actually, the zoo there is the best I’ve ever been to, since Warren Buffet helps them financially.
I hope she survives. I imagine she is a devote Christian.
Many years ago, I was walking by the Ape House at the San Diego zoo, off Balboa Park.
I saw this Sumatran orangutan with two books in his lap.
One was the Bible and the other was a copy of Darwin’s ‘Origin of The Species’.
Disregarding the strong odor, I walked up to the bars, got his attention and asked him what he thought he was doing.
He replied, “I’m trying to figure out if I’m my brother’s keeper, or my keeper’s brother.”
I think the obamites are ignored the dangers of this deadly disease on the basis of pure political doctrine and no medical knowledge. BUT, Ebola does seem to be much more deadly in sh!thole, third and fourth world countries than in modern countries.
Ebola is all hype. In any modern, first world country its not a threat.
Right now the news has no need to “change the subject”...thus there was no TV coverage of the patient being flown in or the ambulance ride to the hospital...
Not if you take the proper precautions.
I’ve seen the guidelines the CDC was handing out that were apparently used in Dallas.
Appallingly inadequate and exactly why the two nurses got it.
Among other interesting things, it instructed workers to remove their gloves first and then use bare hands to remove the rest of the protective equipment!
The directions were actually a generic manual for how to use personal protective equipment. Utterly inadequate for protection against Ebola or any other highly contagious disease, but up on their website for several months.
Why is there an “obola” keyword? Is that short for Omaha-treated Ebola?
Was that remove the gloves first before going through a decontamination shower of germ killing chemicals over the entire body???
I decided to check out if there was any further word on the report that Ebola might be in Mosul, Iraq. Apparently ISIS leadership is taking this seriously. Reportedly had burned 5 ISIS troops thought to be infected. Question is did they burn them after they died or did they kill them and then burn them??
DO THE PLANES THAT THESE PEOPLE ARE TRANSPORTED IN HAVE A “specialized biocontainment unit”
Not thinking so - and unsuspecting flyers then get to sit in those seats - etc...
You mean to say that we couldn’t set up a treatment facility over there?
Anyone here (including you) could’ve added that keyword.
Well, I clicked on it, & there’s a bunch of Ebola posts associated with it. Not Omaha Ebola posts. I should’ve clicked before I posted.
Nope, unfortunately.
