The Framers relied on governmental structure, the division of power, including a senate of the states, rather than the goodness of men to secure freedom. Think about it.

Well said. Pursue Article V would be their rallying cry if they knew what was going on now.

Most FReepers are aware of these links, but I post anyway for review and for people new to Article V. It is our responsibility to make Article V the most understood aspect of the US Constitution.

Thank You Jacquerie.

I remember what you said a while back: “I am not content to put myself in the hands of one prez, nine blackrobes, and 535 congressmen from a distant, mentally detached, and oblivious, Rome like city-state.”

Just think, they and a few thousand bill writing bureaucrats are determining our children's futures and the generations unborn. Enough!

“....the problem is that our government isn’t following the OLD amendments....”

True but you forgot that some of them were losers that never should have been passed in the first place.

“When the federal entity goes beyond the Constitution’s words to govern by penumbras and emanations, then the states should modify the words by amendment to restrict what the federal government can and cannot do.”
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Madison and the other founders could not write words to prevent corrupt men from destroying freedom, what reason is there to believe that anyone now living can do even as well, let alone better? Added words simply create more opportunities to pretend to find meanings that don’t really exist in the language.
