This is a very old joke. I remember Dave Allen using it in the ‘70s.
Yuri Gavarin, the first man into space, sent by the Officially atheistic USSR, returned from his mission.
"Well Comrade," Kruschev asked, "what did you see up there?"
"Sir, I know this is not the policy of Marxist-Leninism, but I saw God."
"Really? Really! What's He like?"
"Well, first of all, She's Black..."
