Police Commissioner Bill Bratton is so worried his cops will turn their backs to his boss, Mayor Bill de Blasio, at another NYPD funeral that he sent out a memo to shame them into good behavior, sources told The Post.
“A hero’s funeral is about grieving, not grievance,” began the four-paragraph plea, which is being read at precinct roll calls ahead of slain Officer Wenjian Liu’s Sunday service.
Bratton won’t punish officers who choose to turn their backs to de Blasio — which was done in droves at the funeral for fallen Officer Rafael Ramos — but he pleaded with the rank and file to shelve their anger.

Sergeants Benevolent Association President Ed Mullins blasted the mayor for having his commissioner tell cops to respect him.
“If you’re the mayor and you have to direct the commissioner to respect you, it’s a total embarrassment for the office,” he said. “Are they going to order cops to go have dinner with him next?”
How about not having de Blasio show up to politicize the funeral to begin with? Is that too simple? And Bratton has discredited himself and sullied his long career by being de Blasio’s apologist as well.
We all laugh at and mock the deluded naked emporer but we reserve a special, seething hatred for guys like Bratton who feed the emporer’s delusions.

Of course they should turn their backs on him.
He has ignored their requests to stay far away from the funerals of fallen cops. He not only shows up anyway, he insists on giving patently insincere speeches.
The back turning is a mild and silent rebuke. They could be giving him the Bronx cheer and throwing rotten fruits and vegetables at him. It’s certainly more in line with what he deserves. The cops are showing dignified restraint, IMO.
I can imagine, as the cops continue to slow down ticket writing, they will get orders to write more tickets, to which they will comply.

Scrooge Wilhelm-—he can make this all go away with a little brief ‘sorry, I misspoke incorrectly about the NYPD’ speech. Oh and nice rehiring of the hack judge who let’s criminals who threaten cops get off lightly there Wilhelm. So flux him and his hurt feelings.
Or what, Commish? You are ordered to protect PEACEFUL PROTEST, are you not? What is more peaceful than a turned back?
I would venture to guess that most of the cops at these funerals are from outside NYC. Does Bratton expect them to listen to him? Will they even get a copy of his memo? LOL.
OK,...they won’t turn their collective backs, on him or you.
They’ll just give each of you a LOUD and in unison BRONX Cheer.
I think Tom Selleck could do a better job than Bratton at this point.
Whenever they think about DeBlasio, duh mayor wants each of the NYPD to know "I got your back" and now he does.

I’d like to see even more of the cops turn their backs on this POS. In fact I hope they ALL do.

This is a guy who said the NYPD “has a long history of racism”...The NYPD that is made up of 60% minorities! He also said he has to “teach his son how to act around the police so he doesn’t get killed”. Those are both just soo completely off the charts outrageous statements it’s insane. Not even Sharpton goes that far, all Sharpton screams about is wanting cops prosecuted, and this DeBlasio is the Mayor! And he’s screaming about racism when there is not one single solitary shred of proof of racism in the Brown or Garner cases, he just made it up to rile up the thugs. Clear cut evidence he intentionally put cops in harms way.
And THEN to top things off, in an attempt to smooth things over with him, the police unions organized to have a meeting with him. ALL they wanted was first and foremost was for him to STOP with the racist rhetoric because “safety of our officers is our first and foremost concern” and they said they “couldn’t resolve it” which means he REFUSED!!!
So to hell with this guy! To - hell - with him. They should threaten to go on strike until he is physically removed from office, they went on strike before in 1971, they can do it again. This guy is completely out of his mind and should be nowhere near ANYTHING even remotely resembling a position of authority.

SO the Majority of the cops are Minorities? Then we have a majority minority, minority majority NYPD.
