I prefer Walker to Trey Gowdy/Nikki Haley/ Mick Menendez.

I prefer Rand Paul to Kasich or Christie or Jeb.

I prefer Pat McCrory, Jeff Sessions, Cruz, Lee, David Vitter, Steve King, Paul LePage, Glenn Grothman, Ratcliffe, Jodi Hice, Barry Loudermilk and others.

It’s being conducted by the axis of amnesty: Walker, Senator Johnson, Reince Priebus and Paul Ryan.

I could never understand why Walker didn’t call the National Guard.

He didn't because it was not the best option available. When he does that, the story is no longer about passing Act 10, but about the National Guard. The bad guys would have run off to a sympathetic judge, gotten an injunction of some sort, and made more mischief.

They WANTED To make Walker into the Second Coming of George Wallace. Heck, it wouldn't surprise me if they found a loser or two who would want to make it look like Kent State, and die for the cause.

All the while, the media would do their darnedest to recast the story to make the bad guys sympathetic.

Walker held firm. He didn't negotiate. He did have the State Troopers out waiting to intercept the flea baggers. Walker is not a Mayor Daley type. He has his own, different strengths, and he got the law passed, and some other good laws, and also managed to improve on his original victory in both the recall and the general re-election.

People who are seriously considering Scott Walker need to read the link that you provided and click on that article’s link to his statements.

I especially found his remarks on our system of checks and balances disturbing. He also remarked that the Republicans can’t be the party of “no” and he apparently believes that government should have it’s nose in our healthcare system preferring to replace Obamacare with another government system.

There is a knee-jerk reaction that some people here on FR have to saying anything negative about Walker the same way some used to react if you said anything negative about Chris Christy.

Don’t get me wrong. I have mostly been pleased with the guy for the good things he has done for WI but I am frustrated with the way he wants to play it safe now that he wants to run for POTUS. He owes us here in this state the opportunity to further the conservative agenda that we stood behind him for. We may never have this opportunity again. Walker seems to think that we voted for him because we want an end to gridlock or for everyone to get along. That is NOT how he survived a recall election.

I have serious reservations about promoting this guy for POTUS. While Walker may have some conservative social beliefs that doesn’t necessarily mean he will promote those beliefs if they threaten his political career. His statements thus far have seemed to point to that. Yet people here get really angry if you criticize the guy or if you don’t support him.

He’s not a lawyer.
He’s not an Ivy League grad.
So in my book, that’s a huge advantage.

If Walker pushes RTW, there WILL be another recall. And they will do this recall election on the same day as the 2016 Presidential.

SoConPubbie is a punk. In the past 12 hours he’s called long-time FReepers Nazis and RINOs. He’s trying to run a Cruz thread and is about as diplomatic as Hillary Clinton. Ignore him/her/it.

I never understood it either and took it as a sign of weakness rather than strength. A lot of Wisconsonites were disgusted by what they were seeing on TV but also frustrated that nothing was done about the destruction and corruption of the police force there. That cost the taxpayers a bundle of money and set a very bad precedent.

Yes, he stood firm against the unions and his family put up with a tremendous amount of difficulty and stress. Personally, I do not believe he has another fight like that in him. I will be disappointed in him if he decides to run but it looks like he wants to. His job right now is Governor of WI. And he owes it to the conservatives that kept him in office to pursue the conservative agenda that the voters voted for. We worked hard to get the legislature in our favor as well. Now he wants to play the middle and moderate himself to run for POTUS.

That’s really nice for him but what about us? This state has suffered greatly under the liberals. Lots of jobs were lost and companies are struggling to keep afloat still. There was no need to Walker to say what he said about the RTW legislation. Many of those Republicans sitting in the state legislature had to put up with much of the same that Walker did. Their personal safety and their families safety were also of concern. They stood behind Walker. If he is against this legislation then he can veto it when it comes across his desk.

He just doesn’t want the unions against him right now. I have news for him. They have long memories and no matter how much he tries to appease them they aren’t going to vote for him and will work hard to keep him out of office. Throwing conservatives in WI under the bus isn’t going to get him elected and it won’t erase the memories of state liberals.

Are you sure you don't have me confused with some other poster?

Please prove your accusation by searching my posting history to prove I am calling Freepers Nazis or RINOs or shut up!

Seriously, click on my name at the bottom of this post and then click on the “In Forum” link at the top of the page and then search for the words Nazi and/or RINO with regards to me accusing other Freepers and then post those examples.

If you can’t find them, I expect, that being the honorable person you are, you are going to apologize and admit you are wrong.

You called another Freeper a Troll for calling Niki Haley a Rino. I confirmed she was a RINO and returned the favor to you. At no time did I call a Freeper a RINO or a Nazi.

Get your facts straight or quit drinking or both.

Oh, I am still waiting on the examples of me calling other Freepers Nazis.

If you are a class act, you'll be admitting you were wrong and apologizing.
