Black America’s Best Ally: Cops

Starting with the President of the United States, followed by his Attorney General, the establishment media, African-American members of Congress, and dozens of professional athletes, protest against the loss of black lives has become a cause celeb. To be sure, every death is a tragedy, and every crime – whether committed by a police officer or anyone else – should be prosecuted. But the simple truth is that sometimes police must act in self-defense to protect themselves. It appears that that may well have been what happened in Ferguson, Missouri.

Many of the protesters in Ferguson took to the streets in protest before the facts were known. When the grand jury declined to indict, protests began immediately, well before anyone had a chance to read the evidence that was presented to the grand jury. This sends the message that, regardless of the facts of a case, the police are by their nature dangerous, corrupt, and racist. Inadvertently or not, that attitude creates a wedge between the law enforcement community and the minority communities they serve.

There is no doubt that there are times when police fail to adequately serve African-American communities. When that happens, there is reason for protest. But there is also no doubt that police departments are responsible for saving hundreds, and probably thousands, of black lives every year. Can self-appointed defenders of the African American community Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton say the same?

That service to African-American communities should not be belittled or forgotten.

Qui bono? Well, most immediately, the gangs benefit. If the cops are forbidden to police black neighborhoods then the gangs will do their own “policing.” In certain neighborhoods it ill be the implementation of Sharia as in European arab neighborhoods. that will last for a little time then the Feds will take it over and policing will take on aspects of political control operation.

I think it is time for cops to stop responding to calls from black areas of the cities. Let them have at each other as they have demanded without resistance from society. Let the businesses leave. Reproduce the black policies of Detroit. When the cities decide to be civilized, they can call out for the rule of law.

Actually the people of Detroit actually like their cops these days. Its why Detroit has been so quiet through all the rioting and protesting everywhere else.

Actually, blacks and police are used by the leftist government, both parties, to further the agenda of a police state.

We should help them collectively pull their heads out of their butts and get them rallying for Tea Party candidates and causes, and not allow the Dems and the GOPe (one acts on it and the other ignores it) use them as pawns.

Gotta get rid of unions, the welfare state, and race baiters.

“.........protest against the loss of black lives has become a cause celeb.”....

Why aren’t these same people protesting the loss of ANY life, including those of the police? Under odumbo, crimes, and particularly deaths have increased. Might have something to do with the lack of effort to stop it.

I thought crime, and murder particularly, was lower than ever since Americans have armed up so thoroughly. It’s just in Chi-town, etc. where there is so much trouble, and that is getting better too, I thought.

The murder stats are quite lopsided with black deaths, just like the abortion murder rate is for blacks. It’s a shame and the exclusive property of leftist policy. The left OWNS this problem.

DOH! So I didn’t answer your rhetorical question; Protesting other deaths would not advance their agenda towards a police state, where regular folks will be at the non-existent mercy of thugs and cops, totally dependent upon the benevolence of the state.

Exactly. Once they get a load of themselves as Detroit did, they will be begging for the rule of law as Detroit is now.
