Much easier to control the populace when you outlaw masculinity...

America’s lawyers have learned how to go where the money is. It is the reason we call lawyers bloodsuckers. When the money is all sucked out, America’s favorite sport will drop on the ground like a spent-out shell. These lawyers will be telling their grand kids how they earned a fortune on the backs of a great past-time. And their grandchildren, who learn the truth about them, will spit on them in disgust.

Hope to God that He does not like playing football. If He does, here will be Hell to pay in eternity for a quick buck at the altar of the judicial bench.

I'm sorry, no is won't - football us like the “bread & circus,” or gladiatorial contests of the Roman empire. A way to distract the masses! They will find a way to pay off the lawsuits, I think.

What will happen is you won’t, in any way, be allowed or able to get your noggin rattled while you’re under 18, but once you’re over and can sign a contract it’ll be business as usual.

In a round about way, this may come around to getting the freedom to have a drink back to people who’ve reached the age of being able to enter a contract...

Only if the players are homosexual or transgender. Then it’s okay. [/s]

Is it pussification to bring in safeguards to ensure butchers don’t lose their fingers over their careers? Is it pussification for the military to have gas masks so soldiers don’t die in a mustard gas attack?

If not, I don’t think that it’s pussification to at least look at what measures should be taken so that 40 year old men don’t have 100 year old brains.

The price of those overpriced, trademarked paraphernalia will just go even higher. Along with the undersized, overpriced seats and brewskis at the game

I’ll have to read this article later. Florida State is getting stomped, and the Buckeyes and Crimson Tide are almost on.

Football could become the diving board of sports.

Observation #1 -- US media seemed to push World Cup Soccer unbelievably hard this year.
Observation #2 -- US media seems to be waging war against American football.

I think I see where this is going. Football is going to be grouped with bullfighting as a barbarous sport no longer enjoyed by enlightened people.

if true eventually everything will have to go, as all sports wear down the body, and/or are dangerous where people might get hurt.

Live sports are the only tv programs commanding big bucks for advertising because nobody can DVR past the commercials.
Follow the money.

Drop back a half hour or an hour then hit play and skip past the commercials. Easy peasy.

I think football is killing football all by itself, both college and professional. college football has mutated into a thing it was never intended to be — and this playoff is a joke that we foolishly asked for (if not demanded) that the moneyed powers that be simply turned into an even bigger cash machine for themselves. We played into their hands.

and the nfl is just a complete spectacle now. There no difference between it and, say, professional wrestling.

I think a rewrite of rules and how the game is played could save the game.

Imagine the warriors lining up as they did in Rockne’s day with leather helmets, outdoors in the cold and rain and snow and mud!

Slow it down some, no protecting anybody, nobody has face masks, less pads, bloody and broken noses, microphones on the scrimmage line, fights like in Hockey, gouging, biting, one or two refs, no replay just fights, time out only to drag injured off field, etc etc etc.

I haven’t watched a pro game from beginning to end in decades. It’s sterile and boring!
