This represents a victory for the "gay" rights movement.
If you consider the sexual practices of homosexuals, it's not difficult to figure out they never had any use for marriage; once they obtain whatever benefits can be elicited from government recognition of legal unions, the rest is pointless.

The purpose of legalizing same-sex "marriage" is and always was to destroy the institution of marriage altogether.

“The purpose of legalizing same-sex “marriage” is and always was to destroy the institution of marriage altogether.”

They can only destroy marriage for those that rely on the state to define marriage. For many, the state’s definition hasn’t been the correct one for centuries, for many more since the state came up with no-fault divorce.

I think the real purpose is to use the power of the state to punish and to be able to keep punishing those who they know will never accept it. It’s the stick they won’t ever have to put down.

This is actually a victory for traditional marriage, when you look at it from a different perspective. Removing the state entirely from the institution of marriage is a good thing, for those who see marriage as a sacred institution.

I'm guessing that a lot of religious people in this country don't give a flaming sh!t how the government defines marriage, and I predict that over time you're going to see more and more people getting married without ever getting "legal" recognition for their marriages.
