Jeb resigns from all corporate boards; prepping for 2016 run

With a 10 point lead in the most recent polls, Jeb Bush has apparently decided that 2016 is his year. He has now resigned from all corporate boards, clearing the way for his run for the GOP presidential nomination in 2016.

Washington Post:

Former Florida governor Jeb Bush, moving closer to a possible presidential run, has resigned all of his corporate and nonprofit board memberships, including with his own education foundation, his office said late Wednesday night.

He also resigned as a paid adviser to a for-profit education company that sells online courses to public university students in exchange for a share of their tuition payments.

Bush’s New Year’s Eve disclosure, coming in an e-mail from an aide to The Washingotn Post, culminated a string of moves he has made in recent days to shed business interests that have enriched him since leaving office in 2007. The aide said the resignations had been made “effective today.”

The aide said Bush was reviewing other businesses in which he is principal partner or owner, such as Jeb Bush & Associates, a consulting firm, and Britton Hill Partnership, a business advisory group that in 2013 set up private-equity funds investing in energy and aviation.

Aides said Bush wants to devote his time to exploring a return to politics rather than pursuing his business commitments. But separating himself from those interests now could also be a strategic attempt to prepare for the added scrutiny of a hotly contested campaign for the Republican nomination.

Must be great to make millions for "sitting on boards" (LOL).

Let’s make a rule: bash Jeb for his positions, not for his name.

This whole “fear of a dynasty” is silly and akin to conspiracy theories.

Good thing he doesn’t need the conservative base to win.

So how many Bush presidents would be a dynasty?

Hmmmmmmmm

hes doing a Willard...

Whenever Willard is running for office he resigns from the board of the Marriott Hotels where he pushes porn in the rooms..

right after he loses he joins the board again and once again receives his extremely large blood money salary..

as the position is not a conflict of interest the reason behind the resignation is more to add to the laughable squeaky clean “image” than anything else...

And the Soviet game of placating the useful idiots with a Ruling Class Party-chosen loser to create the illusion of ‘choice’ in the 2016 election gets underway in earnest.

And for certain the GOP Party hacks will be coming out to ‘shame’ Conservatives as traitors if they dare opine that they will not be casting a vote for JEB or whomever ends up the Ruling Class “nominee”.

I don’t believe in dynasties so there is no number.

People vote as they will.

The idea of a “dynasty” is for children.

I hope Jeb is stopped by someone, save us Sarah and/or Ted from another Bush, this one with a short Mexican wife. I think I’d rather have the fat dude from NJ than Jeb, Jeb really sucks and he’d lose.

I choose to vote against dynasties.

Is that OK with you?

I’m tired of wealthy elitists using this country for a play thing.

That is such a good point. Jeb Bush, Mitt Romney, John Kerry, Elizabeth Warren and their ilk are incredibly wealthy people that run out of things to do with their money and time. So they search for a new challenge or high and decide to run for political office. To them it is a game, but if they win they affect our daily lives.
