When Ohio teenager Josh Alcorn told his parents he wanted to live as a girl, that he felt trapped in his own body, his parents said they wouldn’t stand for that.
“We don’t support that, religiously,” his mother told CNN Wednesday, her voice breaking. “But we told him that we loved him unconditionally. We loved him no matter what. I loved my son. People need to know that I loved him. He was a good kid, a good boy.”
Crossing out the name “Josh,” the 17-year-old signed the name he wanted to be known as — “Leelah” — in a suicide note posted to Tumblr.
The note was programmed to publish after Alcorn’s death Sunday. The teenager was struck by a tractor-trailer on Interstate 71 around 2:15 a.m., about four miles from home in the tiny town of Kings Mills, northeast of Cincinnati.

From what I read in another article, the blame is being put at the feet of the Christian parents instead of where it truly belongs, at the feet of the LGBT crowd who perpetuate the lie of being born in the wrong body.
Sounds like he had some mental "issues".
Everytime I read about this type of thing, I believe that it’s the meds.

A better idea is people need to stop taking themselves so damn seriously. There are things more important than yourself.
It’s time to pull your kids out of government run schools, people. That’s where they’re learning this stuff.
I don’t know if it is being born in wr0ng body but I do believe some people really feel they are not the gender their body is.
It is really an extreme feeling when you’d rather die than keep living the gender of your body.
There are children who never heard of LGBT who say they know are not the gender of their body.

I’m sorry, Ashley, but “she” was a he, down to every cell in his body. Even amputating his male parts would not change that fact. I’m very sorry that CNN has gone down the political-correctness rabbit hole. What’s next? If a mentally ill person named Smith thinks he is Napoleon, will you refer to Smith as Napoleon?

Kids are not mentally stable, generally, until the teens are over, anyway. On top of that, you add the instigations of those who prey on the minds and souls of children and you have a recipe for disaster. If I could go back in time, I would erase the person that invented cell phones....:/ I lost control over my kid for a few years but, if you can keep them alive and not too far over the edge, eventually, they come around to normalcy.
Here is a thought, learn to accept the truth of your sex instead of demanding society change to accommodate you.
He’s part of the Tumblr generation.
He thinks every sexual kink he engaged in was supposed to be “celebrated”, and when reality hit him, he decides that he is too good for this world, and actually thought that him killing himself was a magical act that will make him a hero. For no other reason than a dead body makes for good propaganda, he will be “famous” for a few minutes.
Within 24 hours no one will even know who he was. There are plenty of other narcissistic dudes that wear women’s clothing to replace him.
