Iowa’s Steve King reasons that since Jesus dined with tax collectors, Steve Scalise was fine keynoting a white supremacist rally.
Steve King (R-Iowa) jumped to Scalise’s defense. “Jesus dined with tax collectors and sinners,” he said according to the Washington Post. “I know his heart, I’ve painted houses with him post-Katrina, and I know he is a good man.”

Tuesday afternoon, House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, R-Louisiana, issued a statement apologizing for his appearance twelve years ago at a white supremacist event, saying, “It was a mistake I regret, and I emphatically oppose the divisive racial and religious views groups like these hold. I am very disappointed that anyone would try to infer otherwise for political gain.”
and yet Scalis is apologizing for being at the meeting. the guy is waste get rid of him.
