If you could see the people who get locked up in those neighborhoods in Staten Island you'd change your tune. They are coached by their defense lawyers how to immediately file complaints against arresting officers for completely bogus claims. And these complaints are entertained by the laughably liberal review boards. Really, I wish you could spend one day there. You'd wonder why anyone would want to be a cop there.
While that may be true, cops still have the discretion to not enforce (unconstitutional!) gun control laws, but from what I understand they are rearing to do it. If NYC had no sway over my life I’d be ok with that, but since people like Hillary! and Charles Schumer vote for pieces of crap, it matters.
If those claims are all so groundless as you assert then why are so many of them being acknowledged with such significant settlements? And why is it that the problems in Staten Island are centered around the narcotics unit? And why are the narcotics units in the neighboring precincts not having the same problem?
And I would never live in New York City. I’ll probably never visit, either. I saw enough of it when I changed planes for London last year and that was enough for me.
My advice to you is to get out of there and come out West and find a nice Sheriff department where you won’t have the problems you’ve had in NYC. In Park County we have our problems, it’s true, but all of our problems for the entire year would probably still not amount to a slow morning for you.
All the best and Happy New Year to you!
