A long time friend of mine, a native born Swede, just went through the same ceremony in August of this year and I so wish I had gone to witness it. It required driving 2 hours, but would have been worth it. She and her husband have spent years and a lot of energy for her to earn the privilege to call herself an American and I am very proud of her.
