Just Damn! R I P
RIP.
You never know what might happen on a DV call. One of the reasons a policeman’s job is so dangerous.
The last cop killed in this area was killed during a domestic disturbance call.
Yet another NEEDLESS TRAGEDY?????????????
A Domestic disturbance call can be the most dangerous call to get. You don’t know which side is the most dangerous and you’ve got to get in between them.
This is our town. It is a nice city with a small town atmosphere, crime is minimal. Our son works for a private security firm here thus he interacts with local police. When we discussed this awful story this morning, he said the protocol for a domestic violence event of any type is to have backup. Not saying my son knows the protocol of Flag PD, but it does make sense for such a standard. The cop was there by himself and the outcome would probably have been better had he been accompanied by another policeman.
I can understand, but would be reluctant to excuse, going around protocol when it looks sometimes to be a waste of time, and I don’t want to stand here judging a man at a job I’m not qualified to do. This is police work and things like this happen. God bless the folks that will choose the job.
This is tragic and there are long faces all around. We understand the cop was not married, and only his father is his immediate family. If I were his dad, I would not get over this is short order.
The guy who killed the cop here was well known to police but had never been known to be violent. Just a local nuisance drunk.
He had threatened his ex wife with a shotgun so naturally she called police. Two cops went to his house and knocked on the door and he told them to come on in as if nothing were wrong. He shot and killed the first cop through the door and cop number 2 shot him 3 times and killed him.
The local race baiters naturally blamed it on the police and said the shooter was already back home and would have cooled off as he sobered up if police hadn’t “hassled” him.
Still wondering who shot the perp.
High risk job, policeman. And life’s not fair. I’m sure that many domestic violence calls are made unnecessarily, but most probably not. What is it with people that drink knowing it turns them into jerks? What is it with people that hit on each other?
“The local race baiters naturally blamed it on the police...”
Yeah, whatever! I think even some on the left are tiring of this race crap. However, if the drunk was white and pulled this, the friends and relatives of said drunk would quite likely have blamed the police also, just not playing the race card.
Perp self destructed.
I like your tagline, BTW.
Thanks
Stole it fair n’ square!
