As a Roman Catholic school boy, it was celebrated too and being a captive audience, the nuns marched us down to mass.
In Europe, many celebrate December 6th as St. Niklaus day, as well as the 24 (Christmas eve), 25th & 26 as Christmas days. They also celebrate January 6th as Christmas due to the large number of Eastern Orthodox.
Thank you for the details - there are is so much heritage associated with those days.
It is sad that in the Middle East, the beseiged and devestated Christian communities have a much reduced Christmas.
