Judge Tracie Hunter stays out of jail, for now

For suspended juvenile court Judge Tracie Hunter, it's no jail time, for now.

Late Friday evening the Ohio Supreme Court issued a stay on Hunter's six-month jail sentence. The stay delays any jail time until her appeals case is decided.

In October, Hunter was convicted on one count of unlawful interest in a public contract, a fourth-degree non-violent felony.

Three weeks ago, Hamilton County Judge Norbert Nadel sentenced Hunter to six months in jail and not probation.

Her trial attorney, Clyde Bennett, told WLWT News 5 that a group of judges outside Hamilton County should look at the case.

"Judge Hunter was wrongfully convicted and it took a fresh pair of eyes that were fair and objective and neutral and anybody that is fair, objective and neutral about this case can clearly see that she should not have been convicted," Bennett said.

Bennett said the Supreme Court's decision shows there is merit in Hunter's appeal and he is confident an appellate court will overturn her conviction.

"Finally something has happened. Finally somebody is listening and so we'll look at this appeals process and we'll keep watching," Bishop Bobby Hilton said.

Had Hunter gone to jail on Monday morning, Hilton was planning a large demonstration outside the Hamilton County Justice Center to protest the process.

"We're not asking for special treatment but we demand fair treatment and we just don't believe we were seeing what would amount to equal and fair justice," Hilton said.

Hilton is still planning to meet with Hunter’s supporters at 5 p.m. Sunday at Tryed Stone New Beginnings Church on Reading Road. He plans to discuss reform within the Hamilton County criminal justice system.

"We know that the system is broken and we are at an impasse now to try to make sure that does not go in any direction that is going around the country, we're trying to fix it now," state Sen.-elect Cecil Thomas said.

Thomas and Hilton said the current court system is broken in Hamilton County and they want to work on mandates to change it.

True or false? Convicted felons can not vote.

Tracie Hunter: Conspirator or political victim?

Prosecutors said Hunter was so wounded by what she considered a conspiracy to oust her, led by Republican Prosecutor Joe Deters, that she decided to assert her authority by committing crimes like backdating court documents to prevent Deters' prosecutors from appealing her rulings.

"Her dislike and hatred for Deters the devil in and of itself is sufficient motivation to backdate those documents," Special Prosecutor Merlyn Shiverdecker told jurors Monday. "She'll show them who's boss."

___

And the ruling class seems to be changing color. Getting darker, more sinister.

So is he a real bishop? Or a phony, baloney bishop from a made-up church?

I am really not sure what a 4th degree felony is... but if they started cutting the balls off all felons, one way or another there would soon be less felons.

Plus, she has the added benefit of extra melanin which means that she gets special rights according to the way the law is currently being administered by those in charge in the US.
