THE WHITE HOUSE Office of the Press Secretary FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE December 26, 2014

Statement from the President and the First Lady on Kwanzaa

Michelle and I extend our warmest wishes to those celebrating Kwanzaa this holiday season. Today begins a celebration highlighting the rich African American heritage and culture through the seven principles of Kwanzaa—unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity and faith. During this season, families come together to reflect on blessings of the past year and look forward to the promises in the year ahead. As we remain committed to building a country that provides opportunity for all, this time of year reminds us that there is much to be thankful for.

It used to really bother me when a US President would pay any attention to this neuvo-commie holiday. I’ve rethought my position, however, and I’m perfectly delighted when this President embraces a culture other than my own.

Now is the time to stock up on deeply discounted Kwanzaa gift wrap.

I paid next to nothing... less than a dollar... for a buttload of Kwanzaa paper one year. I waited ALL YEAR LONG to wrap up Christmas presents for friends and family.

It caused a laugh riot! What fun!

As a 49er Alum as well, it is an embarrassment that your statement is true.

Kwanzaa, Festivus. Kwazsaa, Festivus. Uh, I think that Festivus makes more sense.

A phoney, fading holiday celebrated by a fluffy, created persona now called Barack Hussein Obama (we’ll probably never know who he actually is). This celebration suits BHO well; it was created by another fraud who went by an assortment of names.

Wonderful-- start teaching it to the ferals instead of inciting false racism riots and looting fests.

Where can one find such treasures? I could not even find a Kwanzaa card this year.

That cake is delightfully absurd.

What's the back-story?

I’m waiting for their Festivus Announcement.

Our Pole is at the ready and we will be making our Annual Donation to the Human Fund.

I am looking forward to the airing of Grievances, my favorite activity of the Festivus Season...

I got mine at a Navy Exchange, but that has been years ago.

We've since moved, so I'm afraid I don't know where the best cheap Kwanzaa leftovers are now.

I've pulled the gag once, so it probably wouldn't be as funny for my family again. But I encourage you to make the effort. It really livened thing up!

"Kwanzaa, Festivus. Kwazsaa, Festivus..."

Not to mention those dumb-ass holidays the Canadians have in the middle of the summer for no good reason except that they haven't had a three day weekend that month and figure "screw it" and just stay home and drink beer.

Don't get me started...
