The article is excellent. I would probably change the title because every death mean grieving family members. “So what” seems cold. I get the point. I would just try to say it differently. Even if your dead family member was a bum and a criminal, it still matters to you.

There was I time I would have agreed with you. After seeing videos of the families and their allies they are nothing more than domestic insurgents. Their reactions are no different than that of Palestinians after one of their precious jihad johnnies get blown to hell by the IDF. No acts of acceptance of responsibility, remorse or implied civility - just theatrics, denunciation and condemnation of their enemies. Same exact script, different continent. Sorry, no sale.

Obviously you don't have a bum and a criminal as a family member. I do, and honestly, if he were to die from GSW or some other unpalatable means...I would not give a damn, and may respond with good riddance. You have to live it to understand it. At some point you become apathetic, to whatever becomes of them.
