Unions launch recruiting push for immigrants protected by Obama actions

America's struggling labor unions got a gift this year when President Obama announced his expansive executive actions on immigration: potentially thousands, if not millions, of new members. Labor leaders reportedly are launching a new recruiting push by reaching out to those immigrants affected by Obama's immigration announcement last month. The actions are expected to offer work permits to some 4 million immigrants who entered the U.S. illegally and, until now, were reluctant to join unions for fear of retaliation. Union leaders now say the president's actions give them new protections -- and are keen on signing them up.

LOL

I Luv this - just as I predicted.

Tell us now how great the Executive Amnesty is, Mr. Boner, the one you have no intention of opposing.

If they can get work permits they can join a Union, any Federal judge will affirm that.

Millions and millions of them.

Did anyone really have any doubt that Boehner was going to do this? The same is true of ObamaCare when Boehner became Speaker he refused to even try to defund it. Law of the land remember?

Now who will do the jobs the legalized illegals won’t do? We’ll probably have to loosen up on border patrols to let new illegals in.

This is not “unexpected”. It’s why the union thug$ pimped so hard for Obama. Money, money, money. BIG business is about to take it in the shorts. Their dream of cheap labor is over. Let the harassment and “discrimination” lawsuits begin. Welcome to Barry’s new America amigos! You’ve been Obamasized.

Just a thought. There is no actual EO and not one Illegal has gotten a “work Permit” due to Obama’s statements. There is a law passed by congress and on the books that makes it a crime for businesses to hire those in the country illegally.

It wasn’t done with an EO, but with a memo from Jeh Johnson, Secretary of DHS, at the urging of two Executive Memos by BHO.

The Work Permits are in process, as DHS is interviewing people now. Same process as used for the DACA amnestees.

FYI; Laws don’t matter any longer, especially Constitutional law, unless some government agency needs it to arrest and or restrain the people

To all the farmers, ranchers, hoteliers, restaurateurs, construction contractors and sub-contractors who thought you'd be able to continue to have your near-slave labor subsidized at the expense of other taxpayers: get ready.

You've sown the wind, and now ye shall reap the hurricane. And don't think you'll be able to simply procure more illegals from further down the food chain. Your businesses will be picketed and blockaded once these folks get their union cards.

You ALL deserve it. Pity that the rest of us do not.

I hope they work at EVERY United States Chamber of Commerce company and demand double what Americans make. After all Tommy Donahue and the USCC wanted them, now let them deal with them. Stupid bastards thought the illegals would work for 1/2 minimum wage, now 5th Amendment Trumpka will make pay the illegals double for 1/2 the work. Ha ha ha ha this is a great Christmas present.

EXACTLY my thoughts!

Donahue will be out moaninf to the Republicans to try to ban their union membership, and they will be pleading with us to help.

Eff ‘em. Live with your mistakes, sleazoids.

I’ve always thought that this was the real objective. Latin Americans tend to be very “pro-union”. Why else would the left want legal, non-citizens. Non-citizens cannot vote (legally), but imagine the chaos if entire work sites, or agricultural operations became unionized by “dreamers” who can now come out of the shadows....

I would think overturning laws via memo could be immediately challenged in court and stopped by injunction. This is just so wrong.
