The reason for the season!
His first name is misspelled... it is ‘Asswipe’
“Crap on Lenins Birthday (aka Earth Day) or International Communist Womens Day (May 1st) and youll receive the wrath of liberals in the establishment media.”
The first part of your sentence reminded me of something amusing:
People who worship the Earth literally crap on it every day of their lives.
They literally crap on their god.
Literally.
Merry Christmas all...
I think Congress should approve a new Holiday, Bitch Slap a Liberal Day.
Oh goody a a writer for Mother Jones, the Bangkok Times, and now the Daily Beast chimes in on Bill O’Reilly.....
“The United States was not founded as a Christian nation, no matter how many zealots wish it had been.”
No the United States was founded and mired in the principles found within Christianity and Judaism. No where in the Constitution or other documents is there a call for separation of Church and State. What the Founding Fathers wrote is that the State shall not form a Church such that England did. The rituals and laws of our Nation are deeply mired in the belief of God as it is portrayed in the Old and New Testament. The Founding Fathers also felt that religious liberties was and should be an intrinsic right in which every man woman and child had the right to their personal beliefs and those beliefs not forced upon by the State. This is the original intention of the way the First Admendment was written. Prayers, bibles, torahs and the like are riddled within the documentation and services that makes this country so exceptional. We give religious freedom to say you can believe in what you want as long as it does not infringe upon the right(s) of another. A copy of the Ten Commandments hung in a government building or on a monument does not infringe on any one’s rights nor does the visage of such portend to favoring one religion over the other. If one religion were to be favorited then one would need to take that up with the original founders of this nation for it is they who wrote the documents and scripted their names to those very documents.
If Atheism is not a religion and has not come out formally to state such claim, then one must look at the First Amendment carefully. The Amendment states “religion” it does not state “belief” there is a distinct difference and one that must be technically distinguished. As Atheism have no rituals or centers of worship. They have a few Documents and theories such as Occam’s Razer and other philosophic jargon, but under the first amendment atheism should not be counted as a religion unless a formal religion has been declared, organized and widely accepted. I for one do believe that Atheism is a religion as an antithesis to the belief their is no god. This Antithesis religion can be argued that the faith is as strong if not stronger than the faith of god by the people who practice it. Atheism comes into an issue that in order to be a religion it must be organized. It can be argued that through various non-profit organizations who claim to be atheist in their beliefs, that Atheism is organized and acts on behalf of all atheists in the country. However, even to this end, the visage of such art that portrays biblical verses, pictures of Jesus (which are an artists rendition but not the actual picture of Jesus), the menorah and other such religious visages do not infringe on another(s) right of the first amendment. This Amendment clearly presents to all members of our country that our government shall not favor one religion over another and that all religions are to be treated equally within the definition of what is considered to be a religion by the IRS. (Yes, the IRS does determine what is and what is not a religion in this country. If you think I am wrong look it up. Through granting of taxable status to a religion, it must meet the criteria set forth by the IRS.)
Satanism although maybe a religion that is not liked at all because of the negative connotations associated with its practices, by all standards is considered a religion. While I do not condone satanism, we are a nation of laws and those laws grant that a person or group may worship Purple Cotton Candy if they so choose. The caveat is that their worship may not infringe on the right(s) of another. Should their religion infringe on another’s right, their right to practice such religion is then taken away.
To start, there is no war on Christmas in the United States. There has been some mild to moderate cultural and legal pushback against the absurd notion that a Christian majority has somehow earned a monopoly over the month of December.
More absurd still is the notion that any such "monopoly" exists or ever existed. If a good deal of the nation's merchants choose to decorate with lights and tinsel, it isn't because they're Christian subversives trying to inoculate the nation's kiddies with candy canes, it's because they're trying to move product. Holy secularism, Batman!
No, the "pushback" that is happening is happening in the author's direction and he can't stand it. Christmas, or Festivus? Well, one of them offers beauty, virtue, and a promise of eternal life. The other one, well, it's a bare metal pole. If Asawin prefers the latter he's welcome to proselytize it all he wants.
What has happened? Every store I went into the clerks were saying “Merry Christmas”. Even Target.
It sounds as though the boy/girl/whatever has a problem with living in OUR country. Time for the maggot to go back to the sewer it crawled out of.
If these fools are successful, it may work to take the materialism out of Christmas and put Jesus back in.
I noticed that too. I think Bangkok boy’s “war on Christmas” gig backfired on him and his comrades.
Asswipe Scumsuck is a queer Thai scribbler who posts his verbal diarrhea on Mother Jones and Slate among other wastes of bandwidth. Thanks for polluting FR with his toxic swill.
