Defending Vice President Cheney [Against the New York Times call for Prosecution]
American Thinker ^ | 12/24/2014 | Elise Cooper

Unbelievably, the New York Times Editorial Board is calling for the appointment of a special prosecutor to conduct a criminal investigation of Vice President Dick Cheney and other members of the Bush administration. They call the enhanced interrogation techniques (EIT) “sadistic” crimes and cite that 25% of those detained are innocent.

How quickly they forget what happened to their fellow New Yorkers on September 11, 2001. They worry about the 25% supposedly innocent yet ignore the approximately 30% who were released and returned to the battleground, a figure cited by Obama administration officials. For example, Baghdadi, who was in the custody of the U.S. military in Iraq and released, now heads ISIS. Maybe the New York Times should be more concerned with those released instead of the few innocents.

Sharyl Attkisson writes in her book Stonewalled that journalists should play the “substitution game.” She wishes reporters would be aware of how their own prejudices can affect their stories, and she recommends that reporters exchange people using the same scenario. Here is a good example for the New York Times. Did the NY Times ever consider having President Obama and his administration tried because of all the innocents they have killed along with American terrorists without due process? I say that sarcastically, since there is a place for drones. Yet the New York Times does not seem to comprehend the contradiction that exists between killing and capture. Taking the substitution game to an extreme, what would the NY Times editorial staff have said if there was a second wave of attacks after 9/11? Jose Rodriguez, Jr., a former director of the National Clandestine Service of the CIA, speculates that he would have been hung from the Washington Monument.

Today, the editorial staff is playing armchair quarterback.

Our nation has been overrun by a lawless and traitorous element. The goal is destruction of the nation and enslavement of the citizenry. Obama and his minions make no secret of it. We are the fools for allowing it.

Forty years from now, a Leftist will be in a government-mandated “end-of-life dignity” facility, lying in a pool of her own piss, gasping out with her dying breath:

“BUSH AND CHENEY STOLE THE ELEC-uggngngghh..”

Hate never dies.

This crap has worn so thin. I’m reminded of the sage warning my father used to give, “Keep it up and I’ll give you something to cry about”

“BUSH AND CHENEY STOLE THE ELEC

That and "It was all Bush's fault" will be their last conscious thought[s].

The Communist Party (aka Democrat) has been trying to criminalize politics for years. The NYT has become a journalistic parody, only to be laughed at. America has arrived at a very sad place.

.........OR, let it be the position of The Right that when The Left agrees to quit having “their Judges” protect Obama by standing on “standing” and will support FULL and TOTAL Discovery and Document Production motions against Clinton 1, Clinton 2, Obama, Jarrett, Axelrod, Biden, Reid, Pelosi, Feinstein, Sharpton, Jackson and others, then we will support the same against Cheney. I’m sure Cheney has little to hide, if anything.

Finally, if Obama/Biden are prosecuted and found guilty and removed then all appointments, laws, executive orders or ANYTHING with Obama’s signature on it is NULL and VOID as of the date of his signature.

LOL ;’)

There were five of us and so many friends coming and going that it seemed more like a boarding house. Dad was a great guy but not long on patience so he left a lot of it to my mom - who could easily keep up with the best of us.

The funny part is that Cheney didn’t create or order enhanced interrogations. That was all done between CIA, DOD, DOJ and the President. Cheney was basically on the sidelines with this stuff. Cheney is just a Boogy Man for subliterate ass hats who are completely untethered from Reality and have no moral compass whatsoever.

Bush and Cheney did SO much to keep us safe. The times were perilous but not many seem to remember that anymore. It’s amazing that they returned us to.security.

They do indeed deserve medals.

You've hit on it, IMO.

Just as the liberals never forgave Nixon for going after Alger Hiss, the left will always hate Bush for thwarting their attempt to overturn a Presidential election.

Don’t do it. Don’t accept the premise. Instead ask the New York Times if they have stopped making up “news” stories or if the editors have stopped troll the men’s room at the bus terminal. These are the questions I want answered.
