A bipartisan group of 18 attorneys general in a letter today urged congressional leaders to make reform of the federal immigration system a priority for Congress. As the U.S. Supreme Court has found that immigration is a federal responsibility, the letter from state AGs encourages Congress to act to fix the dysfunctional legal immigration system.
Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller and Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood are co-authors of the letter also signed by AGs from 14 other states and two U.S. territories and sent today to the U.S. Senates two caucus leaders, Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) and Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and to House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).
