When it became clear earlier this month that Israel was headed for early elections, some international policymakers were undecided as to whether to maintain their push for an Israeli-Palestinian agreement or take a hiatus of three-plus months.
Some European officials figured that it wouldnt make much sense to press ahead until Israel had a new government with a fresh mandate from the people to take the decisions required for an accord. Overt pressure on Jerusalem in the course of the campaign would also likely help the right-wing parties, these officials calculated, and they consequently urged their governments to refrain from announcing additional measures that could be perceived as anti-Israeli.
Not all the players held that view. Others considered the issue too urgent, and the situation on the ground too volatile, for the process to be frozen. And anyway, they figured, Benjamin Netanyahu would probably still be prime minister after the elections, so there was no reason for further delay.
And yet the events of the past few days, which the Israeli media have taken to repeatedly describing as a diplomatic tsunami, were set in motion before the coalition collapsed.
....
On Wednesday, Netanyahu spoke of the Europeans with utter contempt, mixed with a dose of presumption. Today we witnessed a series of examples of European naivety, and may I add, hypocrisy, he told foreign reporters in Jerusalem. The decisions in Luxembourg, Brussels and Geneva all these point in the same direction. They point to a spirit of appeasement in Europe of the very forces that threaten Europe itself.

Netanyahu is a great leader who speaks the truth. I doubt he regrets it.
Nor should he be trying to make friends! I personally like Bennett's no apologies campaign.
The one thing we need to keep in our focus is that there’s only one way to kill off the rest of the “da@med joos” and that’s to install a subversive PM in Jerusalem
(sort of like how the same evil international IslamoNazi cabal is pulling down USA)
Seriously? Israel doesn't need any geopolitical friends?
Seriously?
George Soros is working on it. Huge problem, the Left being so thoroughly discredited here. But that never stopped them before. Slowed them down, yes.
Seriously, Bennett seems to have the right idea. Look at his FB page, it is the "no apologies" campaign and I like it a lot!
Seriously, we do. But the EU is not where to find them. What we need is an Eastern Minorities Alliance (EMA for short). We are not the only nation under existential threat by the Islamonazis. From Nigeria, South Sudan, Cyprus, Greece, Armenia, and last and largest, India, we must all hang together or hang separately. The EU morons, determined to learn nothing from history, will not own up to reality until it’s too late. We can’t afford to wait for them, or to sugar coat their medicine for them. Friends? Bah. What is needed are allies to whom we can give our backs.
Soros indeed is a big big big antiSemitic problem on Planet Earth.
Just look at what he’s brought to USA?
Its a shame the Jewish people have to defend themselves in 2014 or 2015 from a man who was helping his ‘godfather’ (working for the Nazis) deport Jews and confiscate their property way back in WW2
Anyone wondering if this Soros thing is mere imagination or paranoia is respectfully invited to read just a little information about it,
