400,000 Letters On Their Way To Congress In An Effort To Dump John Boehner As Speaker

400,000 letters are being shipped to Republican members of Congress this week in the first round of a movement to remove Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) from his post. The letters say to reject Boehner and elect a new leadership team.

The letters are part of the “Don’t be Yellow: Dump Boehner Now Campaign” orchestrated by WND CEO Joseph Farah. The campaign was just announced last week. From the campaign’s page:

“It’s a campaign that allows Americans to send a hard-copy letter to every Republican in the House of Representatives with a call to elect new leadership that will provide opposition to destructive policies that are destroying the foundations of this country.”

Though outlets including The Hill, Politico, and The Washington Post have all reported in the last month-and-a-half that Boehner will likely hold the Speaker’s gavel once again next month, one veteran GOP congressman is working to stop him.

BuzzFeed reported last week that Rep. Walter Jones (R-NC) has met with some other GOP congressmen in an effort to challenge Boehner. Jones, who has called for the impeachment of President Obama in the past, said, “I’ve already said I cannot vote in good conscience for John Boehner.”

“Right now, I’ve been meeting with a small group, and we – about 16, 18 – and we’re hoping to have a name of a sitting member of Congress that we can call out their name.”

Tea Party activist Judson Phillips suggested Marsha Blackburn as one of those names in an op-ed last week for The Washington Times. He wrote that Boehner “cannot lead” and “will not fight.”

“The Republicans will have 247 members in the next Congress. If 30 of these members vote against Mr. Boehner, he will not have the majority he needs to be elected speaker.

That’s all? I’ll bet Congress has received millions so far.

They should get tens of millions.

If the spineless and complicit John Boehner is re-elected Speaker, as is predicted, we’ll know beyond any shadow of a doubt or even cautious optimism that elections now mean nothing and congress is no longer accountable to the people.

We already know the rats are not accountable to the people, now the GOP will step forward and do the same.

A $400,000 check trumps 1 million letters.

Remove the goose, remove the gander (McConell), that should change the course, provided they don’t replace them with another goose and gander by playing the seniority BS.

The only letters that will be read are the ones from smart people who pay thousands of dollars to eat school cafeteria food at some campaign function, the rest will go into the round file.

I suspect the large majority of Republican voters want Boehner, if they have ever heard of him. Most are too uninformed though to know anything about Boehner’s cowardly record.

Are e-mails NOT allowed? I didn’t even know that people still send “hard copy” letters anymore. Why can’t we e-mail our Congress Critter?

A shame we can’t find out what’s in his blackmail file, expose it ALL, then make him stay in the job and see what retribution he might rain upon the bastards who have been using it to assure his cooperation in the destruction of the Republic!
