MFLR.
I'm not talking necessarily out of office. For now, out of leadership positions.
The electorate is craving something different than the Romney/Bush/Clinton/Obama style of governance
I’ll believe it when I see it.
4000 letters ain’t squat. I think I just read that there are 35,000 registered political lobbyists in DC. They are taking your representatives to lunch and handing them $400,000 to ignore your letters.
Can’t happen soon enough.
Trey Gowdy for Speaker!
I’m glad they’re using the “betrayal” word.
This needs to be stated repeatedly.
I thought the bad news for him is that there might be a shortage of Kleenex.
The new Congressmen all know by now that their future wealth will be much diminished if they seriously buck the established system. Get rich and stay rich even if not re-elected or stand on principle and have the Big Money pouring in against you in your next primary while your wealth will depend entirely on your salary and your own investments which will be the subject of scandal and opprobrium. That is the choice.
I will NOT vote for ANY more Republicans until the drunk and McDorkell wield the power of a cold t*rd.
Period.
Great news.

There may be an odd twist to this. The job of Speaker does not have to be held by a congressman. So imagine that even if the conservatives might not be able to make one of their sitting members of congress the Speaker, they might be able to persuade the rest of the Republican conference to accept a non-member.
Such as Allen West. He is very conservative, knows how congress works, is very disciplined and has strong core values. He is also popular with the conference.
North Korea is going to leak pictures of him and Obama in a compromising position?
Any rep voting for Boner needs to be “primaried”. Nothing says I’m a RINO like a RINO voting for a fellow RINO.
This whole issue speaks to one of the big problems I have with the current structure our two party system, seniority. Why should the representative from another congressional district be put ahead of mine simply because they have been elected more times? This system provides disproportionate power to a few and flies in the face of equal protection under the law.
I understand that it provides a system that all understand but it also concentrates too much power in the hands of a few, allowing for the easier manipulation by those who would subvert the system to their ends.
I’m in. I may rally some troops to this cause.
John is still in congress?!!? Who causes this kind of distortion?
The letters aren’t going to make a whit of difference. The only thing that matters is if a challenger from within the GOP caucus emerges and gets enough support to make the caucus’ internal vote interesting.
Even then, we’d likely hear little about it unless the challenger won.
