If you recall, back in May, William Baer was arrested after voicing opposition to a school board meeting about a controversial book by Jodi Picoult titled Nineteen Minutes, a story about a school shooting that contained pornographic content. It was also required reading for ninth graders. Now a New Hampshire 4th Circuit Court of Appeals judge has blasted the school board for "silencing" him and arresting him, which was a violation of Mr. Baer's free speech.

It’s about time!

Now I would really enjoy seeing Mr. Baer run for the school board after suing the members on an individual basis along with the ‘peace officer’.

I wonder if any country has fallen so fast as this country is. From the greatest generation, to the absolute worst generation this country has ever seen. Truly sad that I am of this sorry generation. Future generations have a bleak future if this path is allowed to continue.

Here’s the problem, STOP calling cases like this “False Arrest” it is nothing short of Felony Kidnapping, and all players should have been remanded by the Judge for Formal Prosecution.

In Obama's America, this guy would be arrested and hauled out of a public meeting for questioning the actions of the regime:

When I read the article, the first thing I thought of was Norman Rockwell's famous painting Freedom of Speech. It shows a man speaking at a public meeting. Besides facing lawsuits, the School Board should be ordered to hang a copy of this painting in every room of their building.

In case the picture does not appear (due to my non-tech nature), here's a link to it:

Police chief’s response. Sounds like he’s getting ready for the civil suit.

“[Lt. ]Leach was at the meeting at the request of Hemingway, according to the ruling by Judge James Carroll, as Hemingway asked for a police presence “knowing the controversial nature of the proceeding.”Carroll also noted that board chair Sue Allen “confirmed her efforts to alert Lt. Leach for his intervention to silen(ce) the defendant.”

Sounds premeditated.

And racketeered.

And probably a conspiracy to deny constitutional rights.

Good news! Judge ruled in favor of this father's first amendment rights. Video of his arrest at a school board meeting is at the link.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the “other” articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. Metmom holds both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Metmom will return soon. I am handling the list temporarily in her absence. Please freepmail if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
