“I unconditionally condemn today’s murder of two police officers in New York City.” —President Obama

“Unconditionally”? You say that like it is expected that on some occasions you would have a qualifier!

He could care less, he had to do it for PR reasons.

Although the entire statement read like it was written by someone mentally incompetent, “unconditionally” struck me as well. What other president in our history would find it necessary to add that to such a statement?

I read it that way too.
as if to say, “yeah, I started all this, but I don’t support this particular act.”
In no time we’ll be asked to empathize with the murder’s righteous rage.

I wondered the same thing; what an odd, odd choice of an adverb. In a way, it's almost like saying..."this time I'm telling the truth".

The 'unconditionally' is probably a vestige of his TOTUS preparers' early, qualified protestations. Since anyone and everyone with an ounce of PC in their blood would in no uncertain terms condemn the assassinations and because of his strong need to lie while being head and shoulders above everybody else, he thought keeping that word would would show us dhimmi how much of a leader he considers himself.
