An upstate New York school district has shot down a high school that said no to a seniors yearbook photo because it shows her posing with a gun. Rebekah Rorick submitted the picture for inclusion in the 2015 Broadalbin-Perth High School yearbook only to have it rejected by a faculty member on the yearbook committee due to the weapon. 'Why? And they said, Because theres a gun in it, But its a hunting rifle. Im wearing camo. I have my dog with me, Rorick told WTEN-TV. I was ready to cry. I didnt know what I was going to do. The only thing I thought to do was address it. The photo shows a smiling Rebekah in a classic hunting pose. She is kneeling next to her dog as she holds a hunting rifle in her left hand. Accompanied by her father, Rorick appeared before the school board Monday evening to appeal the rejection. We are in the foothills of the Adirondacks, Michael Rorick told the school board, according to the Gloversville Leader Herald. He and his daughter also pointed out that a seniors photo in the 2012 yearbook showed him with a rifle. After meeting behind closed doors, the school board ruled Rebekahs photo appropriate for the yearbook. There wasnt any reason not to (allow it), president Robert Becker told the newspaper. He said he understood the schools initial reaction to the photo, saying it was due to what he called heightened sensitivity to firearms in schools. Superintendent Stephen Tomlinson told WTEN the photo does not violate the districts policy against weapons. She is not holding the gun in a malicious manner, he said. She is not pointing it anywhere. It is, in my opinion, a nice photograph of a young lady in the Adirondack region that enjoys hunting.

What’s all the fuss? She can’t submit a photo to her yearbook posing with a gun, but she can use the boys’ restrooms anytime she likes.
Guess they thought the gun in the picture would fire and put someone’s eye out ....
Nice!
LOL
Hell’s Bells, the dog is black. What do they want?

First thought, bad. Second, good.
That photo just got 1000 times as many views as it would have in the actual yearbook.
Sincerely,
LV
If she were posed in a nightie with four guys around her, it would have been the front page shot. If it was with four girls, it would have made the cover.
Very not guilty!
Would not be a problem in the Texas Hill Country. I realize that Upstate is way different than NYC, but it seems like they got some administrator from Downstate.
Nah, waaay too much meat on her for one so young — sad to see bad habits forming early.
They both look like keepers.

Fine looking dog too.
She will make a fine wife and mother. May she be blessed with many children that she may raise up the way she had been.
Bad habits?! What, like the fact that she actually eats good food and tramps around in the woods hunting it, rather than vomiting up celery sticks like your neurotic, bulimic twig fantasies?
What's sad is your preference for mentally and physically ill females.
Bummer when women finally get a clue, pack on healthy weight and learn to shoot rifles, ain't it? Must cramp your style something awful.
Not to mention that - by the way - there's actually nothing that indicates overweight in her picture. To the contrary, as a matter of fact. You just can no longer recognize genuine health when you're looking right at it.
Sad to see how low your bad habits have brought you.
