Begay is a common Navajo name. Those kids may have a black parent, but the other one is probably Navajo.

Endless possibilities - her mother could have married Navajo and she may have never married , thus using maiden name.

In the PC world does black blood trump Indian blood like it does white blood? I don't know how this works.

I used to know lots of Begays and Benallys along with Tsoosies and Tsosies when I lived at Farmington,NM.
