Cuba's Castro Brothers Get Big Present From Santa Obama

Foreign Policy: Just as its patron Venezuela hit the rocks, Cuba got a last-minute rescue from none other than President Obama, who announced a Santa Claus-like package of wish-list goodies for the Castro brothers. Why?

In many ways, President Obama's announced plan to normalize relations with Cuba, lift the embargo, extend trade credits and remove Cuba from the state sponsors of terror list is about on par with the rest of his foreign policy.

It was done by executive order without consulting Congress, just like last month's decision to temporarily legalize 5 million illegal immigrants.

It was justified by a claim the U.S. embargo was "not working," comparable to Obama's claim the U.S. immigration system is "broken." In reality, the problem in both cases is that of a halfhearted willingness to enforce the law, rendering it full of holes.

As for the hostage swap in the bargain, that of U.S. Agency for International Development subcontractor Alan Gross and another U.S. agent for three professional Cuban intelligence officers linked to the murder of U.S. citizens in the 1996 Brothers to the Rescue shootdown, it was a deal that gave far more than it got, just like the hostage swap with the Taliban of U.S. army deserter Bowe Bergdahl for five terrorists.

And it was all about leading from behind.

Once again, Obama made nice with Latin America's leftwing leaders, whose interests don't align with ours, and used Pope Francis as a fig leaf for his action.

They are rooted in little more than Obama's desire to be popular with such leaders at the upcoming Summit of the Americas in April. It is little different from his actions in Libya during the so-called Arab Spring.

What garbage dump do we drag politicians like him out of? The founding fathers would just sit down and cry.

He’s just implementing the Cloward-Piven strategy. He thinks he’s going to be in charge after the system is overwhelmed.

Families of American pilots murdered by Cuba’s Castro regime: No Spies for Gross Exchange By Alberto de la Cruz, on April 12, 2014, at 10:02 am

Via Capitol Hill Cubans:

Families of Shootdown Victims: No Spies for Gross Exchange

Shoot Down Victims’ Families Opposed to Cuba’s Proposed Exchange of US-Convicted Cuban Spies for Alan Gross

We the families of the three American citizens and one American resident shot down over international waters by the Cuban government on February 24, 1996, strongly oppose any exchange of Gerardo Hernandez for Alan Gross, Cuba's hostage.

Hernandez is currently serving two life sentences in US prison. One of these is for conspiracy to commit murder in the Feb. 24, 1996, shoot down murders of Carlos Costa, Armando Alejandre, Jr., Mario de la Peña and Pablo Morales. Hernandez’s sentences were affirmed by the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the US Supreme Court declined to review them. He has received all benefits available from the US justice system.

Gerardo Hernandez's activities went beyond potential damage to our country; his actions resulted in the deaths of four human beings, and his life sentence for conspiracy to commit murder brings at least partial justice for the shoot down.

Mr. Gross, on the other hand, was convicted and sentenced to fifteen years for providing satellite phones and computer equipment to Cuba’s Jewish community. There is quite a difference between conspiring to commit murder and helping Cubans communicate with each other and with the outside world. If Cuba is really serious about wanting to improve relations with the US, it should act unilaterally and release Mr. Gross immediately.

We would only support trading Gerardo Hernandez for the following three men, all indicted for the February 24, 1996, shoot down by the US, and identified as direct perpetrators of the crime by international organizations such as the United Nations: Cuban Air Force General Ruben Martinez Puente, who gave the actual order to shoot down the two aircraft; Cuban Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Francisco Perez Perez, pilot of the MiG that shot the missiles that pulverized the aircraft, and the copilot, his brother Cuban Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Alberto Perez Perez.

The US should actively pursue the release of Mr. Gross from the untenable and unfair position of being a hostage of the Cuban government, but not at the expense of justice for our loved ones. We hope that the US’s Department of State leadership continues former Secretary of State Hilary Clinton’s policy regarding Gerardo Hernandez; she was well aware of all the factors involved in this case and understood that Mr. Gross and Hernandez are most definitely not exchangeable if justice is to be served for murdered US citizens.

Making nice with the Castro brothers betrays their victims
By THE WASHINGTON TIMES - - Wednesday, December 17, 2014

Sen. Marco Rubio calls President Obama’s remarkable gift to the Castro brothers, and agreement to “normalize” American relations with Cuba, the work of a “willfully ignorant” man. We hope so. Ignorance can be corrected. Perhaps, to put the most generous face on it, this deal originated in the bowels of White House incompetence that is the mark of this administration. But Mr. Obama may not be ignorant at all, willful or otherwise, but proceeding skillfully to radicalize America’s place in the world to fit the wishes and dreams of the determined and radical left from which the president sprang.

Like a skillful rug merchant trying to move defective goods, Mr. Obama wrapped the deal with something attractive, which he knew would have special appeal in the Christmas season, the release of an American wrongly imprisoned in Cuba for five miserable years. Alan Gross was a private contractor who was in Cuba to install equipment to enable access to the Internet. We rejoice for the freedom of an innocent man.

But in return, the president gave up three Cuban spies who were responsible for the deaths of three Americans whose plane was shot down over international waters. A three-for-one deal is sadly about par for an administration that traded a suspected Army deserter for Islamic militants in a five-for-one deal. Fidel and Raul Castro get an embassy in Havana and an ambassador to clothe the totalitarian police state with legitimacy and an economic lifeline.

However, I think both Castro brothers will soon be leaving the political scene. Cuba may be looking to reform itself like China did in the 1980’s.

Obama & Genocide

He spoke blandly of Tibet’s “unique identity,” but said nothing of Falun Gong.
National Review Online

By Josh Gelenter, November 29, 2014

[Note from FOFG editor: We encourage everyone to write or call the White House to urge President Obama to take measures to curtail the human rights abuses by the Chinese Communist regime and to specifically address the persecution of Falun Gong.]

During his mid-November trip to China, Mr. Obama said something that went mostly unnoticed, but which needs to be discussed. According to our president, “We recognize Tibet as part of the People’s Republic of China. We are not in favor of independence.”

Murdered Pilots’ Families: Prisoner Swap a ‘Slap in the Face’
Thursday, 18 Dec 2014 08:29 AM

By Melanie Batley

The Cuban swap for the release of Alan Gross set free three Cuban spies who were convicted in a plot that led to the fatal shooting down of American pilots in 1996. Now the families of the pilots are outraged by the exchange, insisting it is a violation of justice.

The three were part of the “Cuban Five,” a spy ring that infiltrated exile groups and military installations in South Florida, and were ultimately convicted in 2001 and sentenced to long prison terms.

AMERICANS BEWARE!

Behind Obama’s unconditional surrender to the Castro’s brothers, is the plot to make the American taxpayers liable for whatever the American companies sell to Cuba. The end of the embargo is their goal. "Because of something called the Export-Import Bank there's no risk whatsoever in exporting to bankrupt, murderous and kleptocratic regimes- worse there' no incentive for the kleptocrats to clean up their act, as would happen under a genuine free-market. Also the World, financed 80% by the American taxpayers will open their vaults to be freely looted by the Castro brothers."

Castro helped to bankrupt the Soviet Union, Obama before leaving want to complete the destruction of United States. In the commercial and political relations of the Cuban regime and the U.S. there are several priorities to be concerned with.

1st. Cuba has defaulted in all his international financial deals and Castro encourages other Third World nations to follow his example. Why are we going to sell to someone without the expectation to ever be pay. The American taxpayers should be aware that they are the targets of the scam by which the multinationals sell to Castro whatever he needs and we, the taxpayers, end footing the bill. Castro for 42 years has been with commercial ties with over 150 nations. Now when he has exhausted the patience of nations fool enough to have given him credit, Castro’s puppets in the media, the congress in cahoots with some greedy commercial circles are trying that the American taxpayers shoulder the heavy burden of subsidizing his regime to the tune of 9 billions dollars.

2nd. The American companies cannot made business legally with Cuba without violating several American laws.

A.- Trading with the Enemy Act.

B.- U.S. Commercial Embargo Against Cuba.

C.- Helms- Burton Law.

D.- Involvement in bribes in commercial dealings with another nation.

E.- Involvement in slave labor of foreign workers in connivance with the local authorities.

3rd. Cuba is, and has been a terrorist state for 54 years, and counts with advanced chemical, biological and cyber warfare capabilities aimed against our country. The cooperation between the Cuban regime with Iraq and Iran in the chemical and biological research is well known. A few months before the September 11 attack Castro affirmed at the University of Tehran that their cooperation would put the U.S. down to its knees. Castro once tried to nuke our cities and he has the means and the will to fulfill his dream of destroying our country. If we are involved in a worldwide war against terrorism, Cuba at 90 miles from our coasts should be a prime target in that war; so, those involved in appeasement policies towards Castro and in the promotion of the lifting of the commercial embargo against Cuba are in fact aiding and abetting our worst enemy.

The British intelligence recently made public the relationship between Castro and the terrorist guerrillas of Colombia, IRA, and Chilean terrorists. The socialist administration in Chile has expressed their deepest concern to Castro. The Cuban dictator, as usual, disregarded Chile's official inquiry into the matter and denied that any of those Chilean terrorists had ever been in Cuba, although there are phone calls that were intercepted between them while in Cuba and their relatives in Chile.

We have to wonder why Obama unconditionally surrendered to the Cuban Communist thugs endangering the security of the U.S.?

Listening to Michael Savage last night, he believes that Castro will again open all of the jails and prisons allowing the inmates to flood our border, where they will be welcomed as new Democrat voters by Obama.
