More Rand Paulian genius being exposed on FR. With little to no understanding of the political realities of the people of Cuba. Have a cigar and look just like the fool that is obamaumao.

If you believe we broke communism’s back in Russia— well then you would not understand at all what has happened in Cuba over 50 years— what you call a “failure”. It just remains for libertarian idiots to figure out who they have to sell to get their piece, and it certainly won’t be a member of the Cuban govt.— no, it will be the lowly Cubano trying to make a living under a repressive police state. So the “libertarian” would love, just like Hollywood does, a compliant populace of a “changed” police state. How naive.

If by “breaking the back” of communism you mean shifting the ownership to the politburo’s families and party apparatchiks in Russia— well that was some major achievement- convert a gang of thugs to another gang of thugs and paper it over as “freedom”. Cuba was a free country taken over by a bastard son of a plantation owner who thought he was Lenin— a misguided mean bastard who is a slaver and a drug dealer to this day, as is his brother Raul. There is no comparison as to the outcome— except that obamaumao’s brilliant ass first position will pay him huge drug payoffs as the castro’s cronies and party hacks take over the various “enterprises” to line their pockets.
The only question to remain is ... who will be their “Putin”. Because Putin is a totalitarian dictator in every way like the castros. Deo Vindice.

Yes, we broke communism’s back in Russia. The problem was that we didn’t have a competent foreign policy in place to nurture anything resembling a democratic replacement, and so the party bosses seized power in a kleptocracy. But that later failure doesn’t change the fact that we won the Cold War by engaging our enemy and letting their people see the superiority of our way of life.

Your policy has failed to free Cuba for half a century. It has served only to prop up the dictatorship. We need to be smarter, set aside our egos and face the world as it really is.
