I have no problem with this. The American gets freed and goes home. Americans get to have commerce with their neighbor. American business benefits. Rush and other Americans can get good cigars.
If we examined and listened to the various lying media every country has problems with government behavior towards its people. For Pete’s sake we gave (no not “we” but the traitors in DC that we pay and who failed to defend our national interests with balanced trade) gave the Commies in China our economy. China is just as non-democratic as Cuba.
I never figured out why we didn’t start restoring relations 30 years ago and create commerce and improve relations. Instead handful of ex-Cubans with a chip on their shoulder controlled US policy. Maybe if I was a Cuban that went through it I’d think differently, but I’m not.

The Vatican, which facilitated the agreement along with Canada, gave some details of its role in a statement shortly after U.S. President Barack Obama announced the major policy shift by Washington to resume diplomatic ties after decades of hostility with the communist-ruled island.
The pope wrote letters to Obama and Cuban President Raul Castro in recent months, “and invited them to resolve humanitarian questions of common interest including the situation of certain prisoners, in order to initiate a new phase in relations between the two parties,” the statement said.
