I agree - that was a remarkably clueless evaluation of the situation by somebody you’d naturally expect more from. Sometimes I think they misplace their honor and say whatever they think will get them their next promotion.

Will the #illridewithyou crowd likewise consider protecting women who want to remove the veil in public? My first thought about the first incident was her risk of being attacked by other Muslims for showing her face - a very real risk.
