To: House Atreides

Well with the topic of the thread being sorrow over a death that is only hours old, I took a risk posting my observation, but it does seems off putting to me that this reporter can report on the story and stories like it, until someone mentions a most tenuous connection to herself, and suddenly the woman’s death becomes heart breathtakingly tragic to her.

When someone you either know or is somehow connected to you gets killed it becomes very personal. Newsreaders report death every day of the week. I’m sure they get inured to it. Is it really so surprising she got so emotional?
