Apparently the ‘narrative’ is pitched to the magazine. The ‘reporter’ then goes out and finds someone to plug into the narrative. It has to be the right university (white; conservative) to fit the narrative.

She didn’t even check with the friends who were there. She didn’t ask the fraternity either, and this was this (among many others) red flag, for fear of repercussions. So asking them about the rape was off limits, but publishign it in ROLLING STONE was okay??

“Jackie” apparently told the reporter to leave her out of the story - as if she wasn’t the entire story - before they went to publication.

For ten days the UVA administration, national media, everyone assumed this story to be true. New Media asked questions. Wash Po took it up and found out it was total b.s.

And yet fraternities and sororities are still suspended on the UVa campus.
