I don’t completely agree with his statement about all pets have souls and will go to heaven, but I don’t have a lot of trouble with it. I needn’t agree with The Pope on every little thing to appreciate his value to the Church. All we on earth can do is express an opinion. He is entitled to his opinion. Besides, I have owned pets that I did love very much, I enjoyed caring for them, and deeply mourned their passing or disappearance.
Did he actually say they have souls or just that our pets would be in heaven with us? There’s a big difference. Animals do not have souls. If they did, they would need the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
Not to be ornery or anything, but I’m really glad I’m not Roman Catholic and have to try to defend all the stuff the Pope says.
