China's President Xi Jingping today attended the first National Memorial Day for the 300,000 murdered in Nanjing by the Imperial Japanese Army in 1937 when it captured the then Chinese capital.

The Chinese have never forgotten it. President Xi is right to draw an ethical connection between respect for the historical truth, justice and deterring future aggression resulting in inhuman massacres.

As we all know, the worst evils are still with us even today. World War II may be history but the Nazis and Japanese militarists' spirit is still alive and well in some parts of the world. Our resolve to resist it is strengthened by our remembrance of the past.

300 Thousand deaths by Japanese - Bad! Unforgettable!
40 Million deaths by Mao - Huh?

Communism - progressives love it.
