BREAKING: Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Jeff Sessions Pushing for Defund Amnesty Vote

WASHINGTON – Republican Sens. Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, and Jeff Sessions are pushing for a vote to defund President Obama’s executive amnesty in the “Cromnibus” spending bill Friday night, The Daily Caller has learned.

The trio of conservative senators is hoping to get the defund vote onto the Senate floor as a “point of order,” which would force a procedural vote on the issue without Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid having to introduce it.

The senators are pushing hard on Capitol Hill for the measure as of early Friday afternoon. If successful, the vote would take place late Friday night, after planned deliberations on the defense budget.

It only takes ONE Senator to object to a unanimous consent approval.

I’m SURE Reid will use the necesary trickery to make this need only 51 votes for passage. Would be nice if amendments could me made which would force it into Conference, but the leadership chooses the Conferees, so they probably wouldn’t change anything.

Bottom line is, after the vote in the House yesterday, the Senate leadership wanting it to happen, there’s little chance of killing this, unless 51 Senators can be found to oppose it.

This has to be one of the most idiotic things I’ve EVER seen by a party that just enjoyed a resounding electoral victory. Boner is literally pissing away half of the election by surrendering an entire year of influence over the budget/appropriations.

Boner SHOULD NOT retain his Speakership when the new Congress organizes next year!!! (ditch the rest of the worthless House Leadership too!!!)

That was my idea. Try to put garbage amendments on it that nobody would ever vote for.

This is meaningless. They should be devoting their limited time towards building a coalition of senators to vote down the Elitist, Washington, big money cromnibus. The bill they are currently working on will be voted down and go nowhere. However, if they rally the troops and join some of the crazy (but useful in this matter) left, they just may be able to get 40 votes to knock Cromnibus out and stick it to the GOPe and Obama.

Is it impossible to run a filibuster until the new Congress takes over? January 3? 5?
