A Tampa man is under arrest after police say he and an accomplice crashed a stolen SUV through the front of a convenience store, and stole the ATM inside.
Police are still looking for the other suspect.
Thursday morning around 4 a.m., investigators say, Dwayne Chambers, 37, and another man slammed into the front of the Shubh Mini Market on Orient Road, driving a stolen Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The video shows the vehicle back through the front entrance, pull forward, then two suspects run into the store.
One of them, identified as Chambers, yanked the ATM from the wall then flipped it over several times toward the stolen Jeep.
The other suspect ran out with a box full of cigarettes, cash and coins.
The rear lift-gate would not open from the collision, so the two stuffed the ATM into the back seat.
Billy Webb was asleep next door and heard all the commotion.
"It scared the hell out of me," Webb said. "I thought somebody got killed. It was a wreck. It was a loud crash."
Webb ran outside not knowing of the heist next door.
"I said, 'damn. The vehicle is backing into the building," he recalled.
Webb then approached the suspects.
"I said, 'guys, what in the world are y'all doing?' And they're dragging the ATM machine out the door," he said.
As the suspects sped off, Webb -- standing barefoot in his underwear -- yelled for other neighbors to call 911.

One of the theives grabbed something else and threw it into the car, but you can’t see what it is.
On TruTV’s “World’s Dumbest Criminals,” I have seen lots of videos of theives breaking into convenience stores and trying to steal the ATMs. I have never seen one time where the criminals were able to actually lift the ATM into their getaway vehicle because of how heavy the ATMs are.
The ATM in this video looks uncharacteristically light.
Thankfully criminals are dumb as a sack of wet rocks..... they kept the jeep...LMAO !

Those crooks are very lucky Billy forgot his shotgun.
Note to Billy: Say a prayer of thanks those crooks were not armed.
Events such as this are why traditionally all Americans were “at all times armed”.
