GOP Leadership Allied with Obama on Spending Bill Dems Oppose

Do you want to know where Republican leaders are today? In bed with the White House, and enjoying every minute of it.

The House Republican leadership is desperate to pass a massive $1 trillion spending bill before the clock runs out on government funding at midnight. Obama wants it too. Conservatives hate it because it says nothing about the worst presidential power grab anyone can remember, the unilateral amnesty.

Pretty bad omen for next year, don’t you think?

YES! As long as he doesn't run on a GOP ticket.

Putting to rest any doubt as to what the party stands for anymore.

And it ain't it's constituency.

What a nightmare. For the GOPe leadership to allow the narrative to devolve into a GOP/Obama pact is about as inept as anything Boehner has ever had his hands on......and that’s saying something.

Name a third party candidate that has ever won a US presidential election since the party system came about?

“Spending Bill Dems Oppose”
What a bald lie or demonstration of abject stupidity.

There weren’t enough RINO votes for the Dems to pass it, thanks to conservatives burning up the Capitol lines.
Only after that became clear did the Dems start claiming their opposition.

Every other time Boehner got enough R votes to pass this type of crippling garbage. But it’s a new day.

None! But, the biggest reason that is true is because too many boohoo the fact that no 3rd party candidate has ever won...imagine what would happen if all those that refuse to vote for a 3rd party candidate because they "never win" actually voted for them, that would all change. The 2nd biggest obstacle is all the losers with 'battered woman' syndrome who keep voting GOP, despite the constant battering. But I love the GOP! Lol. Anybody who actually continues to vote GOP at this point is completely and utterly clueless, and deserve each and every beatdown they get!

“Exactly why are Dems opposed?”

Because they don’t want their precious Dodd-Frank bill to be altered in any way!

So people have some idea of what it is Warren/Durbin are talking about:
http://dealbook.nytimes.com/2014/12/09/wall-street-seeks-to-tuck-dodd-frank-changes-in-budget-bill/?_r=0
Here is a rundown of the main Dodd-Frank issues that may be in play over the next day or so. The list is based on information learned from people briefed on the legislative negotiations who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

The bill that Citigroup helped draft: This bill would repeal one of the more contentious provisions in Dodd Frank, a requirement that banks “push out” some derivatives trading into separate units that are not backed by the government’s deposit insurance fund. The proponents of the push-out rule argued that it would isolate risky trading from parts of a bank eligible for a government bailout.

The provision exempted many derivatives from the push-out requirement, but some Republicans have long proposed eliminating the provision altogether.

In late 2011, Citigroup floated a compromise. The bank’s lobbyists sent around a proposal that simply exempted a wider array of derivatives from the push-out plan.

As The New York Times reported last year, lawmakers adopted nearly every word of Citigroup’s plan in drafting a bill. The bank’s recommendations are reflected in more than 70 of the 85 lines of that bill.

Remember Citi is in the pockets of liberals a la Rubin and Lew:

Abraham Lincoln. Of course, there was one lost election in 1856 for the new Party, the Republicans. That was necessary to show there was an alternative to the Whigs. I am guessing you meant a third party that won on its first try.
