It's easier to be a pro-life Catholic in a Democrat crowd then it is to be a pro-life Catholic in a Republican and or Conservative crowd.
It was not sarcasm, but a serious question.
When the Oregon legislature pushed through the bill to allow gay domestic partnerships, the Catholic lobbyist showed up to ask for a tweak in the bill. The tweak had no impact on the main thrust of the bill. When asked if he opposed the bill, he said, "No, the Catholic church isn't in the business of discrimination." This occurred in the midst of many Christians testifying against the bill.
I'm still waiting to see a Catholic organization that upholds Catholic doctrine.
