Six moderate Democratic senators are asking the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to give states more time to comply with its climate rule for power plants.
The moderate Democrats said that states should be responsible for developing their own “glide paths” toward the 2030 goal.
The senators signing the letter were Sens. Claire McCaskill (Mo.), Amy Klobuchar (Minn.), Joe Manchin (W.Va.), Mary Landrieu (La.), Heidi Heitkamp (N.D.) and Joe Donnelly (Ind.).

Moderate Democrat? A moderate Democrat is like a moderate Muslim. A moderate Muslim won’t behead you, stone you or burn you to death, but he’ll cheer on the true Muslims who do so. A moderate Democrat won’t strip you of your wealth and march you off to a FEMA camp for “reeducation”, but he’ll cheer on the Marxists who do so.

I still can’t figure out why Joe Manchin (Dem. WV) hasn’t bolted from the Dem. party and declared himself either an Independent or a Republican. I don’t know of a single Democrat policy that he supports and it is pretty obvious that the Democrat party is not a friend of his state andits workers.

Moderate dem=crash the economy with stupid green stuff. But not quite as quickly.
Why does Lanrieu even care anymore? Her brother is Mayor of New Orleans and former Lt Governor and I will bet anything that he will become the Dem Candidate for Governor or Senator in the not too distant future.
West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin (D) has got to be wondering about his future these days. Retiring WV Senator Jay Rockefeller (D) is being succeeded by Shelly Capito (R) and now all three Congressional Districts have elected Republicans, a first for the GOP since the 1920s. The UMW, a mainstay of WV Democrats is, to say the least, VERY unhappy with Obama and HIS EPA. Of course many of them got offended early by being labeled “bitter clingers” for wanting to keep their guns and religion.
While Sen. Manchin doesn’t face re-election until 2018, he has to know that the state is trending GOP as the Democrats move towards ‘Green’ and liberal. He is now about to become part of the comfortable but powerless Senate minority party. My prediction is that he will probably stay Democrat through 2016 to see if the Democrats can regain the Senate in a Presidential election year and when there are more GOP seats in danger. If there are bad results then, he may change from being a ‘conservative’ Democrat to something else.
A moderate dem is one in fear of not getting reelected.
You bet. “Obama Joe” here in Indiana is already running scared and his term runs 4 more years.
An extension of around 200 to 300 years sounds like a solid way ahead.
