FWIW.
Seems to me as though modern culture is also really working hard to get Christ out of their sight and mind.
And some in the church are trying to help them.

"We cannot accept that a German Christmas tree has anything to do with a crib in a manger in Bethlehem," wrote the Nazi propagandist Friedrich Rehm in 1937. Sounds like most modern American liberals.

My parish pastor has a big sign that is placed on the front lawn in front of the rectory title “Keep Christ In Christmas.”

This article is poorly written and even more poorly sourced, which is getting it lambasted by its (liberal) readers. But the underlying facts are true. Hitler was an atheist, and tried to de-Christianize Christmas.

1)As a Greek, St. Nicholas was indeed an "aryan."
2)To label St. Nicholas' homeland "Turkey" is to engage in an anachronism. It didn't become "Turkey" until much later in history when the Turks invaded (from central Asia) and conquered it.

If we thought 0bama's sycophants peddled a lot of weird crap...swastika cookie cutters, tree balls and Iron Cross tree ornaments?
And the irony of being the largest christian nation on earth that can't say 'Merry Christmas' without giving some idiot reason to scream in faux offense isn't lost here...

If Hitler appeared somewhat dour and seemed a little sad in December 1941, it was probably because the Red Army had just stopped the Wehrmacht’s drive towards Moscow.

Bodie Thoene, in her excellent Zion Covenant series, in the novel, Vienna Prelude, describes Christmas day in Vienna in 1936. It is heartbreaking to read of a young woman who wants to be happy under Hitler's rule with her family on Christmas. The scenes of department stores and others who have to go to work on Christmas day reminds me a lot of where America has come to in Obama's 2014 presidency.
