Hans Gruber got it wrong: "When you steal $600, you go to jail or end up dead. When you steal 600 million, they will promote you, someone else will hire you for much more money or you get to retire with a huge payout and full benefits and a bonus that is more than the gross national product of all but the G10 countries."

My son’s employer, a city police department, paid the difference in salary for my son, a reservist, when he went to Iraq in 2003. Included the average amount of over time pay the other police officers made while he was gone.
