ST. LOUIS • Dorian Johnson, who shot to fame as a witness to Michael Brown's fatal encounter with Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson, has been hired to do work for the city of St. Louis.

Jeff Rainford, Mayor Francis Slay's chief of staff, has confirmed that Johnson was hired under a state grant through the city's Agency on Training and Employment (SLATE).

Officials said he is doing work for the city's parks department. The job, listed as a temporary position, pays about $8.50 an hour.

Rainford said Johnson met the low income eligibility requirements for the hiring.

Johnson, 22, was with Brown at Ferguson Market and Liquor when Brown stole a box of Swisher Sweets cigarillos and shoved a store employee. Johnson was walking with Brown when they were stopped in the street by Wilson....

Back in my day we had a saying for certain classes of people in the Army: "[expletive]-up, you move up." Guess it works that way in Missouri, too.

Meanwhile, Darren Wilson and George Zimmerman are unemployed.

What happened to simply enforcing the laws as written?

Apparently I’m not simply conservative; I’m an archaic dinosaur for daring to ask that laws be properly enforced.

"Rainford said Johnson met the low income eligibility requirements for the hiring. "

I guess having a criminal record doesn't matter when doling out the tax payers' money. I'd be pretty pi$$ed if I was a low income, law-abiding citizen, and was passed over for a job because they gave it to this low-life.

Perjury in front of a grand jury gets you a job not jail.

Very Clintonian.

“In the Navy it was: those who can, do. Those who can’t, lead.”

I’ve heard that those who can, do. Those who can’t, lead. Those who can’t lead, teach. Those who can’t teach, teach college.

Trayvon's brother was hired by some legislator.

I think it's called black privilege.

Black privilege.

Participate in a strong arm robbery, help your buddy attack a cop, perjure yourself in a Grand Jury, get a job with the city.

You mean he gets a check. Whether he actually shows up for work is another story.

And lying to police officers, and perjury during GJ testimony.
