The blowhard opportunist muscled his way into the arrangements and even put out press releases promising to deliver the eulogy without ever consulting the family or offering to foot the bill.
But Gurleys relatives told Sharpton to stay away rather than turn the somber ceremonies into a spectacle.
Its been a nightmare, Gurleys aunt, Hertencia Petersen, told The Post. He just wants to take credit for this when hes never even contacted my sister [Gurleys mother].
Who made you the spokesperson of our family? We just want to bury our nephew with dignity and respect.

Al the race pimp gets no respect. LOL!
Racists!
Hey! He’s got IRS BILLS TO PAY! He’s gotta make some dough somehow!.................
The race card has run out, Al.
I’m probably like many other white Americans ...
Whatever legitimate grievances the black community may have, having Sharpton being the lead racebaiter makes me tune out completely....
There are many other highly respected blacks who could lay out the issues without the underlying hate whitey tune...
I altered my schedule based on Kimberly Ballingers request, the domestic partner of Akai Gurley, Sharpton claimed.
Futhamore..”I have bought gasoline and evuhreethang”
I’m like you. I’ve discovered 2 things faster than the speed of light.
1. My thumb to the “mute” button when I see the faces of Al, Jesse, or Louis on the screen.
2. My thumb to “volume” when I see the faces of black people, whose names I don’t know, but who I know will speak in sane, rational and deeply caring voices. They are the ones who I know care about their people and country and are not dedicated to making their fortune from turmoil and hatred.
I’d like to know...when was the election held that put these hate and violence mongers in charge of what was once a marvelous civil rights movement? I must have been out that day.
A damning indictment of the scammer Sharpton, who obviously believed that the family would worship at his feet.
Who made you the spokesperson of our family?”
The media (the propaganda arm of the Democratic Party) made Al “Tawana Brawley” Sharpton the “king of all blacks” when Je$$e Jackson’s love child came to light years ago.
There is another class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs. - Booker T. Washington, 1911
I find it amazing people actually watch Al Sharpton on MSNBC...
The man can barely speak English and makes some of the most absurd statements on T.V....
You have to be in serious denial about reality to watch him...
What I find amazing is that people watch MSNBC at all!!
I get my news on FOX, and TV has 2 parts. WATCHING and LISTENING. I see the “faces” and hit the MUTE button.
From the corner of my eye, I scope out the screen and like magic, when their faces vanish the sound returns.
My TV follows the principal of the 1st amendment. The constitution protects their right to “free speech”, but I noticed it does NOT require me to listen to their crap.
I have a right “TO CHOOSE”, and I excercise it daily.
From an unnamed source:
I have always questioned if Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton were
really preachers since they have no church.
When I heard Al Sharpton was guest preacher in our town, I decided to check him out in person and see what it was all about.
I sat down and Sharpton came up to me - I dont know why, maybe it was because I was the only white person in the Church.
He laid his hands on my hand and said: By the will of Jesus the Lord All Mighty, and the will of God, you will walk today.
I told him I was not paralyzed. He came back and laid his hands on me again, and repeated the same thing.
Again I told him there is nothing wrong with me.
After the sermon I stepped outside and lo and behold, my car had been stolen.
LMAO!!!!
Nice one!
