Am I missing something ? : I think Obamas executive amnesty is probably unconstitutional, and in any case its bad policy. A Congress mindful of its place in our democracy would stop it on balance-of-powers grounds alone. I also share Byron Yorks puzzlement over why, exactly, it has to be stopped now, as opposed to after January when Republicans will have majorities in both Houses.
What I (and others) also dont understand, though, is why the Republican House cant at least try now, by attaching a defunding rider to whatever budget bill it decides to pass. (There are lots of other such riders being attached already.) When the bill reaches the Senate, anti-amnesty forces have at least a shot at getting enough senators to defy Harry Reid and pass the rider: Manchin, Donnelly, Heitkamp, McCaskill, King and Tester have already expressed their misgivings, and there are rumblings about Carper.

Even if the required number of Democrats didnt defect, theyd have been forced to take an unpleasant vote that might be used against them in the future.

Now don’t get crazy on us with such expectations....
Could someone please post a copy so we can examine it? Thanks.
Re: “Am I missing something?”
The author is a Democrat, so I’ll speculate he can’t see what Conservatives have known for years:
The GOP leadership, in both Houses of Congress, support Amnesty.
But, he can fix that in 5 seconds flat, so it's not a complex or time consuming issue that blocks him from moving forward.
He signed the Dreamer order and maybe some oethers.
The DACA lawsuit has not been taken to the right courts and have the right plaintiff to have standing.
U.S. District Judge Reed OConnor, who earlier this year had expressed agreement with the agents contention that the deferred deportation program undermined their duty to enforce the law, said on Wednesday that it was not within his courts jurisdiction to decide on what essentially is a dispute between federal employees and their employer, the U.S. government.
Plaintiffs were likely to succeed on the merits of their claim that the Department of Homeland
Security has implemented a program contrary to congressional mandate, he said in his ruling.
These 5 million illegals already have amnesty, Obama is just admitting it.
Instead of just focussing on the “adorable” dreamers Obama invited a lawsuit from a whole host of conservative and RINO governors about the 5 million illegals.
His only goal is chaos.
Sure your right except for the fact that the Republicans really don’t want to fight this,THAT’S THE PROBLEM
And he can do it even with a bit of a head cold!
