19,000 copies of advanced sections for Sunday's New York Times
Back in the early 60s, I lived in the NYC area and worked in a candy store.
On Sundays, I had to put all those advanced sections together (for 5 or 6 newspapers), and the Times was always the worst.
By the time I got done I was black from newsprint.

My Mom subscribed to the Sunday Times. We weren’t allowed to read it, in the living room, because of the newsprint. Supposedly, upper class folks bought cotton gloves, to read it with. I can still recall going to wash my hands, and being able to read several sentences, that were imprinted on my forearms.

I know the younger folks scoff at this notion, but it is true. Put “hot type” in your search engine. Thank you!
