Catch and release: Two terrorists set free into U.S. by Homeland Security Dept.
Washington Times ^ | 12/2/2014 | Stephen Dinan

Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson acknowledged Tuesday that his department had to release two men who admitted they were part of a terrorist group from Turkey, after a judge ordered them to be let out — a decision he said he disagreed with.

Earlier this year, Mr. Johnson had told Congress that four men who were caught crossing the southern border and who claimed to be part of a Marxist terrorist group would be deported. But Tuesday he told the Homeland Security Committee that two of them remain in U.S. custody, and two others were released into the U.S. and then fled to Canada, where they are seeking asylum. ...

Obama sees them as kindred souls on a mission to destroy as much of the US as possible.

The article blames the release on an unnamed judge. Wondered why only 2 of the 4 were released and who was the judge.

Perhaps the NYT will be publishing their names and addresses?

“The article blames the release on an unnamed judge. Wondered why only 2 of the 4 were released and who was the judge.”

Good questions, but at the very least, they should have been deported. They were here illegally. According to the article, they were smuggled into the USA on our southern border.

Also in the article:
“You tell the world that you’re going to deport these four people tied to terrorists — these are terrorists — and they don’t. They get released,” said Rep. Jason Chaffetz, Utah Republican.”

Somehow I don’t think so.

Maybe you could see if the Washington Times was given the name of the Judge. But I bet it was actually up to Homeland security to deport them.

SOMEBODY is an enemy of the United States of America - and it’s not just these terrorists.

If they’re qoinq to find out who the terrorists are and then release them to do their acts of terror here on US soil.... we may as well qet rid of the entire Dept of Homeland Security because billions of dollars later we’re worse off than we would have been without the DHS!

This story just simply can’t be true. Jeh Johnson has told us before that there are no terrorists crossing our southern border. Only poor unfortunate refugees.

Yes, but the article is silent on what their ultimate disposition would be. They were being held for what purpose...to be deported, go to gitmo or ??? The article raises more questions that it answers.Certainly the most interesting is who was the judge and for what reasons did he direct their release.

LOL, those released fled to Canada and requested asylum. LOL...really???

These guys in robes at the immigration hearings are not judges; they’re part of the executive department and are little more than special hearing officers. Their own department is known as EOIR, the Executive Office for Immigration Review. So terrorists have been loosed on the US by a couple of executive bureaucrat drones.

This is the aspect of the obama reign that is the most odious; that so many moles have been planted at all levels of the bureaucracy, who will dig in and stay for generations, doing his bidding long after he’s gone.
